Luigi Moretti’s “Beer and ice factory” was founded more than a century ago in Udine, in the Friuli region.At that time, Udine was a sleepy little town, surrounded by stone walls that had been built by the local community.Luigi Moretti was at that time already familiar with wholesale trading.The first bottle of Birra Moretti was sold in the summer of 1860 Today Birra Moretti is exported to over 40 countries around the world, including the United States, the United Kingdom,and has won important international awards. In 2006 Birra Moretti was the only Italian brand to have been awarded both gold and silver medals at the World Beer Cup, the most important international competition in the industry.

Peroni Nastro Azzurro
It was 1846 when Franceso Perroni opened an establishment at Vigevano close to Milan for the production of soda water and a un-pasteurised beverage called "birretta" It was a time of political and social strife in the then Kingdom of Savoy. But it was out of this turmoil that the future united Italy was to grow. In Peroni's view, though, the proclamation of the Kingdom of Italy in 18611864 the young Peroni decided to make his fortune in Rome, which was fated to become the capital of the Kingdom and hence to attract growing numbers of visitors and pilgrims, soldiers and bureaucrats, with an increasing overall population. The new establishment was set up in large premises in the vicinity of Porta Via
